Why you should love GM Diet Plan

In 1985 GM (General Motors) company developed a diet plan to help its employees.

This diet plan was endorsed by GM board as well as the Food and Drug Administration of the US. It was for employees of GM only but later on, it gained rapid popularity due to its result and effectiveness.

Basically, it is a 7-day diet plan. Unlike other diet plans, this GM diet plan consists of natural products such as fruits, and vegetables. At the end of the 7th day, you may lose 5 to 8 kg of excess body weight.

As I said as per this GM diet plan on each day you eat different food or food group. The main focus of GM diet plan is to have lot’s of water to stay hydrated and eat fruits and low-calorie vegetables.

During the GM diet…

At least have 10 glass of water to stay hydrated.

Avoid heavy exercise as it may develop food craving. Light exercise as walking or jogging is allowed.

Avoid beans as they are high in calorie.

Avoid Alcoholic drinks such as beer, Cola or Soda as they are full of sugar.

Have Coffee or Green Tea without sugar.

GM Diet Plan – 7 Day diet plan

Day 1

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

One Apple, Half Pomegranate with 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Watermelon, orange and 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Fruit salad (apple, pear, watermelon, papaya, pomegranate2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Watermelon, pear, 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Whole papaya, 2 glass water.

Day 2

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

One mashed potato, little butter, oregano, pepper, chilli flakes, 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Cucumber, two carrots, 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Sautéed vegetables (mushroom, bell peppers, broccoli, purple cabbage, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Vegetable soup (water, cabbage, capsicum, herbs), 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Salad bowl (lettuce, cucumber, carrot, cabbage, broccoli, lemon juice, and seasoning), 2 glass water.

Day 3

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

One Apple, Half Pomegranate with 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Cucumber, two carrots, 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Sautéed vegetables (mushroom, bell peppers, broccoli, purple cabbage, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Melon, cucumber, 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Fruit Salad (apple, pear, melon, papaya, strawberries), 2 glass water.

Day 4

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

One banana, Glass full of milk, 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Banana, 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Banana milkshake, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Orange, banana 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Vegetable soup (water, cabbage, capsicum, herbs), banana, 2 glass water.

Day 5

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

cup of sprouted salad (sprouts, tofu, tomatoes, lemon), 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Tomato soup, 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Soya chunks, tofu, paneer, tomatoes, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

sprouts salad (sprouts, tomatoes, cucumber), 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Boiled red kidney beans with pepper, lemon, and salt; 2 glass water.

Day 6

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

sauteed Soya chunks with Paneer, 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Sprouts salad (sprouts, cucumber), 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Mix veg brown rice pullav, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Boiled red kidney beans with pepper, lemon, and salt; 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Vegetable soup (water, cabbage, capsicum, herbs with paneer cubes), cucumber, 2 glass water.

Day 7

Morning breakfast:

One glass of lukewarm water with lime on waking up.

Apple, watermelon, 2 glass water.

Midday snake:

Mix fruit juice without sugar, 2 glass of water.

Lunch:

Mix veg brown rice pullav, 2 glass water.

Evening snake:

Mix fruit juice without sugar, cucumber), 2 glass water.

Dinner:

Sautéed vegetables (mushroom, bell peppers, broccoli, 2 glass water.

Results of GM Diet

It is seen that GM diet plan participant’s weight loss is due to the increased amount of vegetables (as they are low in calories). Having fruits in the diet promotes weight loss as well as it has other positive benefits on the body. The omission of sugary drinks encourages weight loss for a longer time. Also fiber-rich fruits aid digestion. The good side effect of the GM diet plan is that it detoxifies your body. It leads to glowing skin and gets back the body into shape.

After GM diet plan, it is recommended to have a high protein diet to avoid weight gain.
